NeuroGym® Rehabilitation
provides unique, evidence-based physical and occupational therapy
for motor impairments due to neurologic injuries or conditions. We
also see individuals with complex post-surgical orthopaedic issues.
NeuroGym® is a
one-of-a-kind rehabilitation centre with techniques and patented
tools that have been developed over more than 20 years of research
and clinical work in the field of neurologic rehabilitation.
Our aim
is to optimize the retraining process by creating a 'neurological
gymnasium' - in essence a 'gym' program for the recovering brain
and nervous system.

Our goal at NeuroGym® is
to improve functional independence by creating the most effective
training environment possible. To do this, we use equipment and
techniques that help enable active movement.
For example, the
Sit-to-Stand Trainer helps individuals to
re-learn the standing motion and to develop the strength and
coordination to do so more independently. The
Bungee Mobility
Trainer enables safe, effective practice of balance and gait.
The Pendulum Stepper assists individuals with regaining lower
extremity mobility and strength. Our patented
NeuroGym® Trainer
combines biofeedback with computer games so that everything from
fine motor skills, facial muscle control and balance can be
intensively trained.
These are just some of
the tools our therapists use in creating a dynamic and effective
treatment plan for each individual. But effective rehabilitation
requires more than just equipment, it requires the scientific
knowledge and understanding of how motor re-learning is best
accomplished and the experience to implement a training program that
will achieve optimal treatment results. At NeuroGym® Rehabilitation
we make it a priority to stay on the leading edge of therapeutic
techniques by keeping up-to-date with current research in
neuro-rehabilitation, motor learning and physiology of exercise.
All of the NeuroGym®
training protocols provide measured outcomes as we strive to provide
the most effective, research-based physical rehabilitation possible. |
